Since I was a kid I always wanted to visit Salem, Mass. I have always had a fascination with history and the Salem witch trials. I also loved the movie Hocus Pocus. My family lives in New Bedford, Mass., but every time we went to visit we never had time to go to Salem (it’s a little over an hour away from New Bedford). Finally, at the end of October in 2011 me and my uncle went to Massachusetts to visit our family and we got to go to Salem.
October was definitely a great time to go and we went the Friday before Halloween. The city had several streets blocked off so people were able to walk around. There were food vendors everywhere and people walking around dressed in costumes to take pictures with. On each side of the street there were different souvenir shops open, and about every hundred feet or so there was a different haunted house you could walk into. Another place we walked though was the Salem Wax Museum. This museum tells Salem’s history through the use of wax figures. Learn more at http://www.salemwaxmuseum.com/
